For the California / West Coast maniacs, November 15th and 16th marks the execution of Wretched Rites MMXXV, a two-day anti-celebration featuring some of the ugliest names in death, black, and war metal. Sacramento, California will be ground zero for the chaos, the press release reads as follows:

Prepare yourselves. Wretched Rites, the West Coast’s most depraved celebration of blasphemy and barbarism, descends upon Sacramento this November. This is not just a festival; it is a ritualistic gathering of the most uncompromising war machines from across the United States, an unholy convocation of black and death metal’s most feared legions.

From the condemned heart of Los Angeles, the legendary Sadistic Intent plays in Sacramento for the first time to desecrate all that is holy. Joining them in this vile campaign are Richmond, Virginia’s Antichrist Siege Machine and Portland, Oregon’s Witch Vomit, a triumvirate of terror stampeding upon Northern California.

This is a ritual of many firsts. Wretched Rites marks the Sacramento debut for 12 bands, including headliners Sadistic Intent and Witch Vomit. The festival also hosts the Northern California debut for 5 acts, such as Antichrist Siege Machine and Caveman Cult. Furthermore, it is a complete West Coast debut for New York’s Horns and Hooves and Stress Angel, solidifying Wretched Rites as an event of unparalleled darkness.The arsenal of annihilation extends far beyond. A plague of bands representing 12 states and 14 cities will join the onslaught. From the chaotic warfare of Florida’s Caveman Cult to the guttural torment of Milwaukee’s Pig’s Blood, the sonic landscape will be one of utter devastation. The ritual will also include the war metal fury of South Carolina’s Primitive Warfare, the suffocating death of New Orleans’ Abysmal Lord, and the perverted black metal assault of Brooklyn, New York’s Horns and Hooves. This is an unholy alliance bound by blood from every corner of the United States, forged to strike terror in the hearts of NorCal.
