The merging of distinct tonalities in ever-present in Blasphamagoatachrist, perhaps best known for featuring members of elite underground bands such as Goatpenis, Antichrist, and the Ross Bay Cult, Blasphemy. Many ‘side projects’ are vanity acts or ego trips but Bestial Abominator is an audio cinderblock thrown directly at your head. Fifteen tracks clocking in at nearly forty minutes of grinding, blasting black metal delivered by well-known veterans of the scene.
Bestial Abominator is like the crew of an MG42. For those of you who don’t autistically study World War II weapons, an MG42 was a high-powered belt-fed fully automatic machine gun platform that generally required a proper fireteam to utilize. This lineup is essentially a black metal firing squad. 1200 rounds a minute, glowing barrel tips, blast beats, bodies ripped to pieces, pulverizing power chord tremolo grinding, nuclear music.

Combine Gods of War by Blasphemy with Apocalypse War by Goatpenis and this is the end product. Guitars and drums come courtesy of the late Virrugus Apocalli and Gilson Lange, both of Goatpenis, with ugly low end coming from Trevor Antichrist of Antichrist, and the aggressive bark of the notorious Nocturnal Grave Desecrator and Black Winds, Gerry Buhl of Blasphemy. All these respective bands are heavy-hitters and represent the militant and martial violence within the black metal sphere. No sugary melodies, no goofy vocals, no keyboards, no theatrics, just pure spite. This is the same artillery-raped territory that bands such as Revenge, Death Worship, and Bestial Warlust occupy. It is a constant barrage of sensory violence.
‘Missiles Obliterate Purgatory’ sets the tone for Bestial Abominator, with the full force of the band making itself present right from the start. There is no buildup or anticipatory nonsense, it hits hard and fast, quickly descending into machine gun blast beats and furious riffs that work in combinations of grinding chord passages and frantic single-note cyclical melodies. Nocturnal Grave Desecrator, while only utilizing a single vocal technique throughout the entire record, still manages to exude a multi-dimensional performance. It’s a fierce bark combined with guttural force, and it’s the perfect fit for the compositions.
‘Black Mass Before the Battle’ is a surprisingly catchy song. An epic central melody on guitar combines with militant marching beats, with the vocals violently wrapping themselves around the main musical theme. This song, speaking freely, makes me want to operator a Tiger I tank and smash a small village full of worthless shitheads. It is interesting how melodic the central riff is and how the vocals interact with it in such a precise and devasting manner, sounding almost like Clandestine Blaze in their execution.
‘Nuclear Desecrator’ is pure headbanging material, ‘Cyanide Sacrament’ is a blinding flurry of blasts, breaks, transitions and ripping melodies, and ‘Obeisance of War’ is a solid demonstration of an almost death metal-like attack and really exhibits a massive Goatpenis influence in both composition and execution.
Bestial Abominator doesn’t play into the tropes of modern black metal. It strikes and crushes like tank treads and plays out like the classics of early war metal and militant black metal bands. Fans of the prior-mentioned acts – Blasphemy, Bestial Warlust, Death Worship, etc. – have an easy pick here. And for 2025, this is a beast of a record that shits on the overly melodic and retardedly theatrical acts running amok these days.
