Nunslaughter to Release New 7″:
Via Press Release:

Today, Helldprod Records sets July 31st as the international release date for a special new 7″ vinyl EP from the legendary Nunslaughter titled Antchrist.
Arguably the most prolific band this side of Japan/s Sabbat, Nunslaughter need no introduction: put simply, their brand of punkish death metal / death metal punk is a veritable institution in its own right. And while they’ve released a handful of albums over their 32-year career, for most maniacs, Nunslaughter shine brightest (or is that darkest?) on their staggering amount of EPs.
Antichrist contains brand-new recordings of four classic Nunslaughter cuts, all recorded live in rehearsal with the band’s current lineup, bloody raw – and not a moment too soon, as they’ve been hitting the touring circuit once again after a hiatus, including a recent European tour in June. Adorned with darkly comical artwork, Antichrist is mandatory for all Nunslaughter junkies, and just about anyone addicted to death metal at its crudest and rudest!
In the meantime, hear the new recording of “Raid the Convent” HERE at Helldprod‘s Soundcloud. Preorder info can be found HERE.

Geistaz’ Ika are a shadowy entity hailing from Denmark’s revitalized (and rising) black metal underground. The band revealed their first public recording, Trolddomsejd i skovens dybe kedel, at the very end of 2018, but only digitally. So impressed by its windswept wonder, Signal Rex eagerly stepped forward to release this debut album unto the worldwide stage.
Indeed, Trolddomsejd i skovens dybe kedel is a work of windswept wonder, and infinitely more. It’s a work of black metal’s most ancient and enduring elements, but rearranged in such a startling(ly confident) manner that they altogether feel surprisingly fresh. Resolutely raw but rippingly clear in execution, Geistaz’ Ika create classic Nordic black metal with a distinctly melodic air – and one most especially melancholic or at least solemn, even during the album’s most blastingly intense moments – with guitars and also bass weaving misty, mystical tales that feel a lot like its cover art looks. References can be detected of both the Norwegian Perished and Hades but also early Isvind, Helheim, and Ulver, such is Geistaz’ Ika‘s incorporation of delicate acoustics.
Says the band, “Geistaz’ Ika is the eradication of the flesh and the evocation of the spirit. A submission to darkness where the tormented creatures of the night howl their laments for all who make the voyage into the seething cauldron of the forest.”
The past is always alive, and its latest present is Geistaz’ Ika‘s Trolddomsejd i skovens dybe kedel. Behold that wonder.
The first wonder to behold is the new track “Når Solen Bløder Rød” HERE at Signal Rex‘s Bandcamp, where the album can be preordered.

Via Forum/Press Release:

RIMFROST Signs With Ferocious Records, New Single/Video released
Ohio-based Ferocious Records is proud to announce the signing of Swedish Black Metal kingpins RIMFROST for a new album this coming fall. A music video for the single “Bloodnight” is now available..
Emerging from the small Swedish town of Hagfors in Summer 2002, RIMFROST began unleashing their ferocious brand of black metal on the world. In 2005 the EP “A Journey to a Greater End” was released and met with critical acclaim. They followed this with the full length “A Frozen World Unknown” in 2006. Heavily influenced by Black Metal giants Immortal, the album has been called “the best Immortal album since “The Heart Of Winter”. It gained the attention of renowned label Season of Mist who released their follow up “Veraldar Nagli” in late 2009. The album, which Metalsucks referred to as “hands down one of the best records of 2010”, was met with universal acclaim. A self-titled effort was released in 2015 by Non Serviam.
“I’ve been a fan of Rimfrost since they began so it’s truly an honor to release their next album”, said Ferocious chief Dylann DeAnna. “I must say it’s their best, coldest to date!”.
Ferocious Records is best known for releasing the all-star project by Pitch Black Forecast entitled “As The World Burns” featuring Jason Popson (Mushroomhead), Gene Hoglan (Testament), Randy Blythe (Lamb Of God), Devin Townsend and M. Shadows (Avenged Sevenfold).
The first cut of the new RIMFROST material is the release of “Bloodnight”. A music video has also been shot. Hravn of Rimfrost had this to say about the song: “Bloodnight captures the natural direction Rimfrost takes, as a developing band and musicians. The heavy metal spirit is more prominent as well, in our eyes the hardest, toughest kind of metal you can get, with a mix of Black and Death Metal. The true Swedish way of course”.
“And I must really point out our excitement to have the chance to work with Ferocious Records and their drive and engagement that is quite rare nowadays. And we are thrilled to be able to get more in touch with the American audience”.
More details about the new album forthcoming…

There’s Always One:
I paid $60 for an OOP Antaeus LP. That’s about as wild as I get. A recent sale back in April saw ‘Transilvanian Hunger’ fetch well in excess of four figures. While not uncommon in the slightest (a recent Moonblood sale fetched several hundred a few months ago…), it’s still bewildering to see.

The Misfits’ ‘Bullet’ 7″ from 1978 recently sold for a nice $2,000…

Olkoth Set Release Date for New Compilation:
Via press release:

—
Today, Signal Rex sets August 1st as the international release date for a special collection from Olkoth, The Immortal Depths & Treasures of Necromancy, on vinyl LP format.
An otherwise-unknown entity hailing from the United States, Olkoth nevertheless have made waves in the black metal underground with those seek among the genre’s most mesmeric and mystical depths. To date, they’ve released two demos, The Immortal Depths in 2016 and Treasures of Necromancy in 2017, with only the latter making its way onto super-limited cassette format.
So ensorcelled by Olkoth‘s sonic alchemy, Signal Rex now endeavors to unleash this black magick on a wider scale, drawing together both demos and adding an unreleased bonus track. Witness wide-screen emotion and bewitching melodicism collide head on in a seemingly endless catacomb of medieval splendor: stark and stratifying, but slavishly devoted to black metal’s most ancient ways. Shimmering shockwaves of impious delight, these are The Immortal Depths & Treasures of Necromancy of Olkoth!
Hear both demos in their entirety HERE at Signal Rex‘s Bandcamp, where the vinyl LP compilation can be preordered.
